iPhone and iPod Touch 3.0 Copy Paste and New Features

Starting this summer, iPhone users won’t have the lack of copy-and-paste functionality to kick around anymore. Apple Tuesday announced that the oft-requested ability to copy text, HTML, and photos will appear in the iPhone 3.0 software update—along with more than 100 other new features.

iPhone 3.0 is the next version of the operating system for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch mobile devices. The OS update, which is slated for a summer release, received a sneak preview from Apple during a press event Tuesday at the company’s Cupertino, Calif., headquarters.

Here are the new features in iPhone OS 3.0:

- Copy and Paste
- MMS (Multi Message Service) send recive photos etc..
- Landscape orientation
- Voice Memos (voice recording) - not iPod Touch!
- New Calendar Format
- BlueTooth - iPod Touch Update!

This all is coming in June!

This update will fix the big missing chunks of functionality on the iPhone. So the current major selling points against the iPhone will be gone. What do people see as the next things that will be raised as a reason to buy another phone?

I'm hearing a lot of buzz on: background apps, tethering, Flash support, and lagginess. People want extra memory as well (but it's not like the competition has phones with more memory). Battery time seems to come and go (I haven't really had problems with mine, but I'm pretty much charging it every night when I sync new podcasts to it). Thoughts?

ipod touches and iphone would be cool, if the software wasnt complete BS. the apple update doesnt look like its going to fix that either. the iphone/ipod touch will forever suck, because apple is behind it, and they dont care how bad it is.
